"Iraq today is archaic and dysfunctional." Tamara Chalabi co-curator of the Iraq Pavilion at the 57th Venice Biennale.

Tamara Chalabi runs the Ruya Foundation for Contemporary Culture in Iraq and is responsible for this year's Iraq Pavilion at the Venice Biennale. She and Paolo Colombo are the co-curators of the show titled Archaic. 

Tamara Chalabi is working to build a cultural bridge between Iraq and the world. In Venice she is showing 40 pieces of antiquities from the Iraq Museum related to the large ‘archaic’ theme for which the curators have also commissioned very interesting new work.
