Where In the World Are Coleen and Bob?
(And Just What Are We Doing?)
We’re on Galveston Island! It’s time to get some sun, sand, and beach time. We’re enjoying life—and working—at Galveston Island RV Resort. We’re feasting in local restaurants. And, with the Galveston Port so close by, we took a cruise to the Western Bahamas.
Wherever you are in your travels, we wish you joy and prosperity,
Coleen

Galveston Island RV Resort: A Highly Rated RV Park in Galveston, Texas
Galveston Island RV Resort, Galveston, Texas, is one of the nicest and newest RV parks we've visited. I'm impressed with the utilities -- the water, sewer, and electrical systems. And the wi-fi. The sites are large. They have large, level concrete pads. There are palm trees all around the grounds. They have done a remarkable job growing grass between the sites. The resort is clean and
neat.

Restaurants in Galveston, Texas: Local Seafood, Cajun, Mexican, and….
Galveston is a diner’s paradise. Miller’s Seawall Grill has the best shrimp and grits we’ve ever eaten. For a splurge, we head to Sunflower Bakery & Cafe for crab cakes and oysters—for breakfast! The Italian buffet at Mario’s Ristorante, well, there’s been a couple times I’ve had trouble getting Bob to try something new, because he keeps wanting to go back there. When we’re hankering for hamburger,
we head to Nate’s Westend Seafood & Steaks, where the burgers are a half pound and hand pressed. You can read our reviews of these and other Galveston eateries on our RV Life and Travel website.

Metal Detecting Revisited: Galveston Beach with My Garrett Ace 350
Metal detecting has turned into my new hobby. It started when an RV park friend took me with him and let me use his metal detector. I've since bought a Garrett Ace 350 and Pro Pointer AT.

RVing and Camping Tip
Do a walk-a-round before you head out with your RV. Check your vehicle lights—headlights, tail lights, brake lights, and turn signals. Check your tire air pressure and look for anything unusual with your tires. Make sure compartment doors are secured. Double check that the awning is secured in place. Make sure the antenna is down and the steps are up, and that the RV doors are locked.
