On a more somber and reflective note, I share this story of Dadiere with you.
From as early as the age of 8, Dadiere had to endure the pain and agony of abuse. From several rape episodes, to physical battering including some from some of her closest family members.
In this video she recalls some of her tales, not to unearth the past, but to bring healing, therapy and hope to the many other women and young persons who are having similar experiences.
Yes, this is a bit different but quite pertinent and timely at this time (I think). Please be sure to watch and then share to inspire someone.
Here is the video, embedded below.
Please be sure to LIKE and comment on this awesome video.
And if you found it insightful, please SHARE it with someone, the more the merrier!
Featured Jamaican Product
So today's feature is not so much a product of sorts, but actually, the service, non-profit and volunteer organizations we have here in Jamaica.
For example the Rotary, The Kiwanis, Optimist, Lions, The Missionary, Community Organizations, Foundations, and the many others like them.
As we get into Christmas, I'd like to salute them and thank them for their relentless and selfless work and contribution to Jamaica by meeting the needs of some of the most vulnerable among us!
On a more personal note, please help me wish my daughter, Karena Gayle, a 'fantabulous' belated birthday!
She celebrated her 17th birthday yesterday, December 18th. If you saw this video, yes, she is the same one who got 12 subjects and one of the highest, if not the best, CSEC result in Jamaica this year! So proud of her!
I wish her all the best as she prepares for the next leg of her journey!
And by the way, if you have any links on Scholarships for her, local or overseas, please let me know. I'd love to explore that.
Did you know...
... that the highest point in Jamaica is the blue Mountain Peak, towering at 7,402 feet above sea level?
On a clear day with clear skies, the outline of the island Cuba can be seen clearly from there. The Blue Mountains in Jamaica is a hiker's and camper's paradise!. You have to see it to believe it.
If you visit Jamaica, the Blue Mountains is a must see. The famous Jamaican Blue Mountain Coffee is cultivated on the lower slopes.
This too, is yet another interesting fact from my 101 Intriguing Facts About Jamaica book.
The next time you hear from me (officially next Sunday), Christmas would have been history for this year⏲!
So on behalf of my family and support team, I wish for you and yours a fantastic Christmas and the very best for the new year!
Until next week, please #KeepSafeAndSane
