Our upcoming season of the Virtual Garden Club is poised to become our biggest fall group yet. I'm thrilled to see so many people joining us
right now, because fall is the best time to look back, as we tease the garden apart, for hints on how to look forward more creatively, and expertly.
I recently broke down the topics we'll be covering in the four live classes on Zoom (which are also recorded to watch later). If you missed that email, you can read all about them here.
Today, though, I want to highlight a bonus feature of the club: a video library of several of Ken's and my most popular lectures, recorded for your convenience.
- Discover how to attract a diverse variety of birds and to better support them with my "Gardening for the Birds" lecture. I always say the birds taught me to garden. And I thank them. In this
lecture, I’ll share all my “if I knew then what I know now” insights that empower me to bring about 70 avian species into the garden each year.
- Discover how to create a more immersive garden by designing for scent, not just sight in Ken's "Scentual Garden" lecture. Gardens are meant to be multi-sensory experiences, and while most offer exciting sights, sounds, and even tastes, many are lacking when it comes to fragrance. Ken literally wrote the book on
incorporating a range of rich aromas into your garden, and he'll share some of his favorite plants, and strategies.
- Discover how to enjoy your garden year-round in my "Nonstop Plants: the 365-Day Garden" lecture. Expressions commonly heard each fall like “the season’s almost over” don’t sit well with me. I’ve worked for more than 30 years to make my garden a visual treat every day, in all seasons. In this talk, you'll meet the plants and the philosophy
that make it happen.
- Discover how to garden effectively in shady areas with Ken's "The New Shade Garden" lecture. Ken literally wrote the book on gardening in the shade (Ken has written the book on a lot of things, you see, with 20 published titles so far!). He'll reveal how to create beautiful, diverse gardens in areas that of lower light, and how doing so also benefits the environment.
Remember, these recorded lectures are in
addition to the true heart of the Virtual Garden Club — four live classes where we'll teach on timely topics, and answer lots of questions.
Our first class starts this Thursday, September 14th, at 3 PM Eastern. (Again: We record all of our classes in
case you can't attend live.) There is also a private, members-only Facebook group to utilize for more advice and connection.
Join us for what will potentially be our largest fall season ever! But don't delay. This is the last reminder we're planning to send.
