UPDATE: After a giant rush on tickets this morning when I sent the original newsletter for my Nov. 7 event with Margaret Renkl, the bookstore handling the ticketing just opened up more spaces. Sorry for those of you who got the "sold out" message. Go grab a spot
now!
The details from earlier:
I’m hosting a webinar Nov. 7 with someone I admire, and feel a kinship with—someone I think you will resonate with, too. I hope you’ll join us.
In these upside-down times, we all more than ever seek refuge, and connection—comfort. Maybe you are finding comfort in reading lately, and if so there’s a new book I want to recommend: Margaret Renkl’s “The Comfort of Crows: A Backyard
Year.”
Margaret and I have lots of common ground (besides our first names, followed by five-letter last names starting with “R,” and writing weekly "New York Times" columns).
The world outdoors is what informs our lives, and writing. We share a strong commitment to tending our beloved landscapes (hers in Nashville, mine in upstate New York) with ecology front-of-mind, in support of birds and other animals.
Join us for a conversation and open Q&A (bring your questions!) about what we both love so dearly, and what’s at the heart of the new book: the intimate interconnectedness of all the living things of our gardens (including us). We’ll talk about
gardening with the wild things front of mind, and more.
A portion of the proceeds will go to support Doug Tallamy’s nonprofit Homegrown National Park. Also: Recorded version available to ticket-holders if you cannot join us live.
