BEWARE…. This is a thrilling page turner that will propel you through a fast paced, thought provoking journey of a brother and sister searching for the truth of their family’s past and finding so much more. If thrilling adventure is what you seek, then you have found it.
Fifty years ago a vicious animal attack sparked by the lunar calendar destroyed a small farming family north of Dallas, Texas. No one knew the impact that night would have on the world’s future. Today that same lunar event will occur again. The question is, will the same vicious event reoccur? If it does, will it be isolated like before or on a global scale? Against the clock, Rob and Mel Florchett must solve the mystery behind the attack in 1970 and put the pieces of their family back together. Along the way they befriend locally renowned psychologist, Dr. Maria Sheltie. Through their combined research and bravery they outwit the CIA and survive the brutality of a Mexican cartel boss. But will family, friendship and pure luck be enough to prevent the world as we know it from an all out animal apocalypse? Conspiracy, suspense, and peril lurk around every corner in this heart pumping race against the clock thriller.

What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
As an avid reader of suspense and thriller novels I have always aspired to write one myself. A few years back I decided to sit down and hammer out my first attempt at a short story. I used many elements of my real life on a small farm in North Texas. The short story had all the elements of what I love to read… fast paced, heart pumping suspense, descriptive creativity and subtle humor. I love to tell good stories. It was based on a rooster. You may be thinking, a rooster? Throw in the CIA, Mexican cartels, smarty art psychologists, Vietnam survivalists, redneck truckers, Nazi librarians, hi-tech weaponry, lots of horsepower, heart tugging moments and yeah well, you won't look at roosters the same again. I can promise you that!
The book has conspiracy depth going back to WWII and the creation of NASA and the CIA. Mel and Rob Florchett must untangle their tragic family history to unlock the danger looming for the entire world in the coming days. The characters are colorful, interesting and very relatable. I believe men AND women would like this read as I have some very strong ass-kicking female characters and the undercurrent of family and love throughout. (I like writing strong female personalities like the co-star of this book, Mel) The men will get off on the road chases, horsepower, weaponry, war history, humor and sadness. Everyone will love the fact it is a thrilling page turner to see if the world as we know it is devoured by an animal apocalypse!
How Did You Come up With Your Characters?
Really, just pulled from my imagination. Some names I use from friends and family to include them to add excitement.

Bronco rolled down the window.
“Que pasa, chica?” he asked in a deep voice. He flexed his fist as he hung it out the window.
“He didn’t pay,” was all Mel had the energy to say.
Bronco eyed her close.
“Did you even try and get it from him?” Bronco asked in heavily
accented English. He used a thick tongue to move a toothpick from one side of his mouth to the other in a slow, exaggerated fashion.
“I make the love. You make the war. I did my part,” Mel said, then without thought wiped her mouth and looked away.
If Bronco came up short on the reconciliation of the payments versus the number of appointments sent to his phone, he knew even a huge tough guy like him was just flesh and bone bullets could rip through with ease. And who he reported to had lots and lots of bullets.
He turned off the Escalade and opened his door. His huge size-14 Redwing boot crunched on the pavement as his six-foot, five-inch frame slid off the plush seat.
“Get in the truck,” he said and pocketed the Escalade’s keys. He rolled his shoulders backward then forward. He twisted his neck to the left and then to the right. Each motion delivered a sharp crack. Then he purposely strode toward the apartment’s stairs. Mel eagerly rounded the front of the Escalade and got in with the hopes of a few quiet minutes to nap while Bronco meted out his justice. But he was always so damn fast. She wished sometimes he would just savor the moment. Within seconds of settling into the soft leather, she was asleep and never heard the shatter of a picture glass window, a man’s scream as he approached the earth headfirst with increased velocity. Then the crunch of head and earth as they collided.
