Single Yesterday and Still Single Today by Taliah Aneesah

Do you find yourself single month after month, and year after year? Do you desire to be married but choose to wait on God to bring you marriage? Do you find yourself frustrated with your season of singleness? Single Yesterday and Still Single Today will help you find encouragement on your journey to marriage. This 60-day devotional is written to help those women who desire marriage but still find themselves single. No matter what you see on the outside, every single woman can use just a little more encouragement. With raw, honest and vulnerable devotions, Single Yesterday and Still Single Today will help single women to embrace their single journeys and continue to trust God for marriage.

Targeted Age Group:: 18-45

What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
I wrote this book because there are many devotionals available. There are many devotionals geared toward women but just not enough for single women. Many devotionals are related to marriage. Many are written to help couples having difficulties in their marriage. However, what about those single women who need encouragement in their single season. I wrote this because I don’t won’t single women to be overlooked.

I know single men need just as much encouragement as single women but I wrote the devotional from my perspective as a single woman. Christianity and society put a tremendous amount of pressure on women to be married. Often individuals ask “what’s wrong with her” anytime a woman is not married. Many women desire to be married but choose to wait on God to bring them marriage. It can be very discouraging for a woman to continue year after year to remain single. This devotional is written to help encourage single women who find themselves saying Single Yesterday and Still Single Today.

Day 1
There is Nothing Wrong with You
There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven.
Ecclesiastes 3:1 NIV

Am I too nice? Is it my personality? Is it something about my clothes or maybe my body? I know some of these thoughts have crossed your mind. Quite frankly these thoughts have probably crossed your mind on several occasions. When you’ve been single for so long, your mind tells you that you are the problem. Thoughts that there is something wrong with you can try to fill your mind. You think that you must be the reason why you are still single. You must be defective. Let me tell you a little secret. There is nothing wrong with you!
God has designed you and made you just the way He wanted to make you. It’s time you stop thinking something is wrong with you and remember what the verse says: There is a time and season for everything. You are not married yet because it isn’t God’s appointed time for you to get married. God knows your desire for marriage and won’t let you down. Although you want to be married right now, God has other plans. God will decide when the time is right for you to get married. God’s timing is so much better than our own. Just think about how many times you wanted to do something right then and there, but God kept you from doing it. As you look back now, you thank God that He delayed you. The things we obtain by waiting on God’s timing is always better than if we would have obtained them in our own timing. God will bring you your husband at the appointed time and season. As you wait on God continue to trust in His timing and not your own.

Lord, thank you for preparing a time and season for everything. Help me to wait on your timing. Assist me with trusting in your timing and not my own. Give me the confidence to know that there is nothing wrong with me. Even when I’m discouraged, allow me to remember you have a time and season for everything. Amen.

Cursed To Love: Doctors in Love Series Book 1 by Noe Segal

Love drives perfectly rational people insane.

Sexy ER doctor Riel Jones has vowed to never fall in love.

Love has other plans.

Riel is a workaholic and has no time for love. So, of course, he is skeptical when his friend announces that her aunt has cursed all the participants of their doctor-filled group chat to fall in love within 6 months. The last thing the doctor expects is to fall for his feisty, beautiful, and down-on-her-luck tenant, Donna Myers.

Donna has had a few hard knocks throughout her life but is determined to turn her life around. When the sexy doctor offers her help, she cannot help but look twice at the man despite dating a man who promised her marriage.

This story is of an unlikely yet powerful attraction between a man with a need to control the uncontrollable and a woman determined to play it safe. But are the feelings between them truly love or the work of magic?

Targeted Age Group:: 18+

What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
Cursed To Love is just one out of seven books from my series Doctors in Love. The genre for the series is medical romance, basically contemporary romance revolved around doctors. The entire series is meant to be a collection of easy-to-digest romance stories. There’s no special story behind why I decided to use this type of setting, it just came to mind suddenly how career men and women like doctors may tend to stay uncommitted to romance especially with work constantly on their minds. That thought made me suddenly this, “Oh but, what if there was a prompt for romance?” and from there I built the silly prompt, the characters, and their respective stories.

How Did You Come up With Your Characters?
Well, first I went through the different branches of medicine practice that I could use for their professions. And then from there I try to think of their possible individual deficits when it comes to romance and the “ideal” type of partner that can break down their walls.

Book Sample
Riel heard his name being called over the intercom and knew that his break was over. Being assigned to the ER, Riel was used to the fast pace and high-stress levels, but this was ridiculous. Normally, he thrived under pressure, but he was feeling off today. It was a bother that he could not identify the cause. He was in the middle of his third straight shift because the hospital was short-staffed. He had only come into the locker room to have a bite of his favorite candy. He was stressed, and so his sweet tooth was acting up. The ER was littered with more people than usual today. He was only still running because of the coffee machine in the common area the hospital staff shared.

He glanced at the messages one last time as he put the remainder of the candy bar back into his backpack. The only person whose input was missing was Danrick, but that was not unusual. The man had decided to drop off the grid for a few weeks. He did so every year. Even though they had all been friends for more than 8 years, the man was still mysterious and brooding.

Riel's name was called again, and his fingers flew across the screen of the smartphone.

It's a good thing that I don't believe in that mess, or I would be worried, he typed and hit send.

Since the last message was sent more than 2 hours ago, he did not expect a response. So, he was surprised when the phone vibrated in his hand. He raised an eyebrow when he read the last message.

Journey: Auntie Sophie says you are up first… Love's going to get you, Mr. I-am-never-falling-in-love.

EMY’S LONELINESS AND THE TULIPS IN HER POCKETS by No name

These short stories are about the uneasiness of being alive and the characters’ feeble attempts not to go off the deep end.
The philosophical movement that influences this manuscript is Antinatalism, hence I suggest referring to it for a better understanding.

Targeted Age Group:: 10-90

What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
I was inspired by the Photo that I then chose as Cover for the little book, plus by The Metamorphosis (F. Kafka) and its protagonist's deformity which os what I feel when I write, deformity of mind, deformity of words never understood by the others, deformity of reality.

How Did You Come up With Your Characters?
The characters who narrate each story are basically always me, what I feel, the other characters are the people that i've met in the real life, almost all the stories are biographical.

The Millionaire Ladies Club by Lottie Morgan

Lily Carter is a well-to-do fashion designer with a penchant for finding men who are more interested in her bank account than in her. Being fed up with this type of man, she creates an online group for successful millionaire women just like her! Four other ladies join within a week of its creation. The ladies bond over men, books, and their respective jobs. As Lily prepares for Paris Fashion Week, she meets hunky Andrew White. Now, she’s torn between keeping it professional and wanting to date her newest model. Lily turns to her new group of friends for guidance, but does she find the answers she’s looking for? Will Andrew turn out like all the other men in her life?

Targeted Age Group:: 18-55

What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
I've seen a lot of books about millionaire and billionaire men and I thought, "What about the women? They can be successful and have money too!" Then I thought about how fun it would be to have a group of millionaire women all navigating dating and relationships together.

How Did You Come up With Your Characters?
I think that the fashion world is so glamorous and fun so it was a good place to start. But I also wanted to shake it up a little so that instead of having the lead woman be the model, she was the business owner and fashion designer.

Zendar: A Tale of Sand by K.T. Munson

Zendar is a world of sand and strife.

Living in the great capital of Zendar, Sol, Nitya has always longed for something more than her family’s merchant lifestyle. She craves adventure—or at least hopes something remotely exciting could happen. When her best friend, Juni, secures them both positions in the palace’s kitchen, Nitya gets to experience a different world than she ever imagined—especially after a young soldier catches her eye.

Her world will never be the same.

Targeted Age Group:: Adult

What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
I was out for a 'girl's night' with a group of friends, talking about romance books. One major complaint was romance was the plot and there was no other story. Thus Zendar was born, a collection of adult romance novels, in a fantasy world, with a plot!

How Did You Come up With Your Characters?
Nitya is in future books, so it was easy to already see her and her romance for the prequel. Ramas at his very core is a good man. Just what Nitya needs for her adventurous heart!

“Her.” The guard pointed in her direction. “She was there.”
Nitya froze, unsure what she was being accused of. Today was supposed to be her last day. She’d gotten to see more of the palace and was quite content to return home. What was happening?
“Me?” Nitya heard herself say dumbly.
Sergeant Ramas seemed equally as surprised. “Are you sure?” he asked the guard.
“I’m sure. She and a man served the food,” the guard answered. Nitya’s mouth went dry as she wrapped her hand around Juni’s.
The Sergeant cleared his throat. “And the man?”
“Not here,” the guard answered.
Sergeant Ramas pointed at her. “Take her,” he ordered.
Nitya stepped back. “I didn’t do anything!” The tears were instant, and she tried to pull away. The guards were quick to get ahold of her. It all felt dreadfully real and horribly surreal at the same time. It was as though it was happening to someone else.

Tahoe Trauma by Jerold Last

There seem to be a lot of people in California and Nevada who wanted to see Roger’s client Sebastian Cobb, a seedy lawyer, dead. Which one killed him on the Tahoe ski slope? From the lush forests, well-groomed ski slopes, and scenic grandeur of the Tahoe wilderness to the glitzy casinos of Reno and the sumptuous excesses of the Hollywood party scene, Roger and his colleagues follow a twisted trail of treachery to a killer who just might have committed the perfect murder. The suspenseful thriller Tahoe Trauma can be enjoyed as a standalone novel. Available in e-book or paperback formats and from Kindle Unlimited.

Targeted Age Group:: Adult, Young adult

What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
Familiarity with the settings (Lake Tahoe, Los Angeles, Reno) and the major characters (the novel is part of a series with recurring characters), even though each book is written as a standalone thriller). i first had the idea for the plot when we took a Christmas vacation to Squaw Valley, where my wife took the photo that became the book cover, a few years ago. I especially wanted to explore what a new additional female detective could add to the mix of series regulars to add a tool to my author's toolbox kit.

How Did You Come up With Your Characters?
They have evolved over time as I wrote this series. Roger and Suzanne were introduced to readers in "The Ambivalent Corpse". We first met "Vincent" in "The Surreal Killer. "Jason" debuted in "Unbearably Deadly". "Shasta" met Roger in "A Train to Nowhere". "Enzo" was recycled from Hunter Down and "Voluptia" from a short story in Five Quickies For Roger and Suzanne. I'm a big believer in Recycling, Repurposing, and Reusing lost characters from library shelves.

Book Sample
Suzanne and Shasta were both experienced skiers who grew up in Northern California. Both had achieved double black diamond slope caliber, even if they were starting slow on an intermediate slope to let the rust flake off.

The top layers of snow on the well-groomed ski slope were machine made, covering the many times melted and refrozen natural snow in the spring known affectionately to locals as “Sierra Cement”. To each side of the groomed slope were “out of bounds” areas where the snowpack was irregular, with occasional rocks, trees, and bushes marring the natural snowpack and creating a safety hazard.

About a third of the way down the slope Shasta turned gracefully to the right heading toward a clump of trees beyond the out of bounds marker, calling out to Suzanne to follow. As they neared the trees Suzanne saw what appeared to be a downed skier, seemingly half-buried in the snow lying motionless. The two women pulled up a few feet from the downed skier, not wanting to disturb what might be a crime scene. From the extensive damage to the back of his head, it was obvious the victim was dead.

Suzanne pulled out her cell phone and dialed the emergency number she had programmed into the instrument before the trip. “I want to report a dead body off one of the ski trails at Squaw Valley,” she told the emergency response operator who answered.

The operator took her name and location, asking her if she was sure the individual in the snow was dead.

“Yes, I’m sure, replied Suzanne. “I can clearly see there’s extensive damage to his head from about four feet away. I haven’t gotten any closer to the body than that.”

“Just wait exactly where you are and don’t touch anything until the ski patrol arrives,” the emergency operator instructed. “They should be there in less than ten minutes.”

Shasta and Suzanne removed their skis, which they stood up against a substantial pine tree a few yards away from the body. They were about ten yards beyond the out of bounds markers, well away from the area of the slope where there would be any ski traffic. The body was effectively concealed from any curious skiers by random trees and brush poking up out of the snow alongside the carefully groomed ski slope.

“We’re not to touch anything or mess up the scene before the ski patrol arrives here to figure out whether the police have to close off this slope to investigate a crime or whether I mistook a dead deer or an unconscious drunk for a murder victim,” Suzanne summarized the call to Shasta.

“I’m not planning to do either of those things now that you’ve told me not to,” replied Shasta, “but I should tell you to be very careful what you say and do when the authorities arrive. I took a very brief look at the body and at the dead man’s wallet, which I returned to his pocket. Nobody will see that anything has been touched, at least by us.

“But the victim’s ID, which matched his size, shape, and face, identified this corpse as our host for the week, Sebastian Cobb. And he was clearly murdered with the classical blunt instrument. You should probably call Roger and give him a quick heads-up about what’s going on up here. I don’t think we need him on the ski slope, but he certainly has an excellent chance of becoming the prime suspect in this killing since he and Vincent both knew the victim.”

The plot line is based on real-life events, combined with the personal story of an Israeli Royal Pioneer Corps soldier, and provides a hatch to the story of 1500 Israeli Royal Pioneer Corps soldiers, taken and kept captive in Germany until the end of the war.

Targeted Age Group:: 40-66

What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
In the midst of the Covid-19 closure, I had plenty of time to go through the photos and documents of my family.
I found my grandfather's soldier certificate and the date of his enlistment. While browsing online, I came across a group of relatives of the Israeli POW from WW2. I discovered the name of the unit in which my grandfather served (Port Operation Unit 1039). Interestingly enough, his captain kept a war diary until his capture.
Through the stories and the date in the diary, I was able to trace the route that my grandfather took until his capture.
All I had left to do, was to dive into the depths of the research and the stories of the prisoners in order to develop the plot of the book. For me it was definitely a real once in a lifetime experience.

How Did You Come up With Your Characters?
This is a true story of my grandfather from WW2. Might be a bit biased but it’s truly amazing and you should all read it.

Getting Ready to Walk to Captivity
The sounds of shooting got stronger by the minute and seemed very close to the tree grove. I felt helpless; the inability to do anything nailed me to the ground. Even the taste of fire we experienced in Tobruk was nothing like the anxiety we felt at the fear of facing the German soldiers physically.
I searched for our commanders but I did not find a glimmer of hope in their behaviour. It looked like they were also scared and helpless. We were alone without the higher British command, which had deserted us.
Thinking of their abandonment replaced my anxiety with anger. Why do we need to experience all of this?
Almost immediately, Captain Yosefi pulled himself together, called and gathered us quickly at the edge of the grove. We stood around him in a circle.
"Dear men," he opened, his voice warm, but serious and humbled, "I am not a man of good news, in my darkest dreams I did not imagine getting myself into such a tough situation." He fell silent and took a deep breath. A few very loud explosions shook the ground and our hearts.
All of us looked at him – Josef and Israel, David and Yehezkel, Hassan and Eichya and the rest of my friends. "A few minutes ago, we received an order from the British brigadier to lay down our weapons and surrender to the Germans. From this moment on, it is each man for himself. I morally cannot command any of you to surrender."
He paused again and made eye contact with each of the soldiers standing there, looking at him with misty eyes. No one spoke, and he saw in this a sign to go on. "I can only recommend that you go into captivity with me, as a group." His voice broke, but he pulled himself together, "I believe that our chances of survival in captivity are higher if we get there as a group then as singles, who could be executed in secret, with no witnesses around."
At the conclusion of his speech, Captain Yosefi stayed silent and stood steady, his gaze sharp and clear. The only tremble I noticed was at the corner of his mouth. Someone moved a rock with their foot and the sound of it rolling away was loud and clear in that silence.
"Why weren’t we evacuated? Why were we left for last?" Albert finally posed the question we all were thinking.
Yosefi was silent for a moment and then said, "I assume that during the sea evacuation, the combat soldiers were prioritized over the combat support soldiers."
Silence fell again.
We all contemplated the sharp, cruel meaning of his words.
"This is ridiculous," said one of the soldiers, "I, as a German citizen, might find myself being executed for treason. Can someone vouch for my safety?" he asked, and I felt as if he had taken the words right out of my mouth.
Yosefi's gaze dropped and he lowered it to the laces of his shoes. "No," he said in a quiet voice.
The single word felt like knives in my ear. "I cannot vouch for your safety or for the safety of anyone else in this division," he paused for a moment, but when he spoke again, his words came out quickly, as if the situation demanded that he hurried. "I suggest we burn any documents that might indicate our former nationality. I ask each of you to bury your weapon and ammunition and join me in an orderly walk to captivity."
He lifted his gaze again. His next sentence made the realization of the horrible thing happening to finally sink into our minds, "Let us make sure to shave," he said, his voice louder and stronger, "clean up our uniforms and shine our shoes. We will go together to captivity as Israeli Jews, walking tall and straight, and if we are fated to die, we die proud."
Usually, it was not hard to sympathize and relate with Captain Yosefi, but in that moment I could not understand his words. How can you be proud in walking to captivity? I thought that the immense stress he was under had completely taken over his mind. In that moment, I had made up my mind.
I had never hesitated, as an individual, to go against the majority and to make decisions that will serve my personal goals only. We were asked to prepare for our surrender and captivity, but I had a different plan, albeit dangerous, but with probable chances for success. Other than the possible danger, I felt I had nothing to lose.
Captain Yosefi had initially said it was a case of each man to himself. I had no doubt that as a German citizen, I was in mortal danger. I could be considered a traitor, as a soldier or a spy, and this could lead to my execution, without a trial.
I said goodbye to the friends in my division, who tried to convince me to give up my intentions.
"Abraham, think well before you go off on your own; our chances of surviving as a group are higher," begged Yehezkel.
"Being reckless won't help you," warned David.
"I believe that our commanders know what they are doing," Alex told me.
"I am not sure about that at all," I told them, "I appreciate our commanders, but there are situations in which I prefer to go against the system. I am not asking you to join me because of the risks involved, but you are welcome to decide."
I trusted my intuition which usually did not fail me. My friends were familiar with the stubbornness with which I was blessed with and did not try too hard to convince me to join the rest of the group.
"Yehezkel," I walked up to him, "Please, when you get to an organized location, please send my wife a letter to this address." I handed him a note with our address in Herzliya. "Tell her about what happened and let her know that as soon as I get the chance, I will send her a letter."
I parted with my friends with a quick embrace. I began my journey, alone with my weapon, along the shoreline heading south.

A Little London Life by Bunny Rockett

Newly separated from her husband, Gemima Box moves to a tumbledown cottage in the village of Little London. Determined to build a new life in the countryside, Gemima soon finds that rural life is very different to city living. Broke and without a job, Gemima’s dreams and her new home both look close to collapse. Then she meets local ‘celebrity’ architect Jonathan Stone…

Funny and romantic, Bunny Rockett’s A Little London Life is the first in a series of Little London stories that follow Gemima Box and her friends and neighbours.

Targeted Age Group:: adult – romantic comedy

What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
I am fascinated by life in English villages. There is always such a mix of people and personalities and I love all the possibilities for humour, adventure and, of course, romance. For all those folk who have ever thought about – or tried – running away to start a new life in a new place, then this is for you.

How Did You Come up With Your Characters?
If you've ever spent time in a rural English village, then I am sure you'll recognise some of the characters in this book. In fact, you might even know where some of them live…or maybe you'll spot yourself.

Book Sample
Let’s get this clear from the start, Little London is not in London, not near London and not anything like London. In fact, it’s different from London in just about every possible way. That’s why we liked it. We were going to swap crowds for countryside in search of the perfect lifestyle that everyone seems to crave when the sun is shining.
After years in London, with our boys grown up and doing their own thing, it was time for a change. And the sun was shining so, blinded by the light, we decided to up sticks and move out. At least, that was the plan and the tiny village of Little London would be the spot.

From Cornwall to Yorkshire, there are places called Little London scattered all over the place. Apparently, they owe their names, in varying degrees, to the ancient laws of London, inflated ambition, poor spelling, mistakes with Medieval English, too little imagination or too much of it and – my personal favourite – to stop sheep farmers getting lost on their way to the capital. I really have no idea if any of these reasons are true. But that’s what Google says and page one of a Google search is about the limit of my patience for research. This is probably another reason why I make so many mistakes, but let’s not get onto that just yet. So, where was I? Oh yes, Little London – the place that was to be our new home.
I’m Gemima by the way, Gemima Box, but everyone calls me Gem, as in Gem Box. People seem to find this funny but, for me, the humour wore off some time ago. A long time ago actually. Definitely not funny anymore. It is, of course, all my husband’s fault. Or rather, my soon-to-be ex-husband’s fault

Featured Bargain Book 04/06/2021: An Immoral Erotic Parable of American Eve & African Adam by D.H. Chewins

Book is Bargain Priced starting 04/06/2021 and ending 04/30/2021. Check the price on the book before you purchase it, prices can change without notice.

About the book:

What if the First Man Adam is black?
When God The Maker cracks a joke, we have explosive interracial sex exploit that makes Fifty Shades look tame.
Is it the one life choice of Katheryn Kellington – a well-bred, well-schooled southern belle – to pursue in college a study of African history — particularly the importation of negro slaves and slavery’s role in The American Civil War — that leads to her corruption and taboo interracial lust?
Is her story of orgasmic discovery more sinister, enabled by Lucifer the Devil?
Katheryn Kellington is the American Eve and Massai Mobuku the African Adam.
Lucifer intends their interracial sex to be natural, inevitable, and God-sanctioned. And torrid, gripping, aboveboard; nothing less will entice.
And, what has an ad in a classy women’s magazine got to do with this?
★★★★Review: fluid, funny, entertaining!
