Welcome to Summer!
Are you melted yet? We've been sweltering in 90 degree heat with 100% humidity, living on popsicles and watermelon.
Our dehumidifier is producing so many gallons of water, I could irrigate my garden without turning on the hose the rest of the season.
I've got some fun things for you today, but first a bit of business. I'm based in the U.S., so the new rules about private information and email collection are rather over my head. But I know I have lots of readers on the other side of the pond, so for what it's worth, here's my attempt at a GDPR disclosure:
I
don't have any information about you except the email address you signed up with. And if I did have any "big data," I wouldn't know what to do with it. I wouldn't even know where to look for it.
The exception would be if you've written me a personal note. I love those and I keep them because they make me so happy! If you say something nice about one of my stories, I sometimes will share a short anonymous quote on social media or my blog.
What I
don't share is your email address. I don't sell it, don't trade it, don't let anybody even look at the distribution list for this newsletter except my tech guy who helps me run it. (As Jane Austen would say, "Reader, I married him.")
But if you don't want me to have or keep or share any of that info, here's what to do:
If you don't want any more emails from me, there's an unsubscribe link at the bottom of this newsletter and at the
bottom of this cover note. As a matter of fact, here's another one to save you scrolling:
This link will automatically unsubscribe you. If you hit that link, it instantly
deletes your email from my server's database forever. I can't even see who unsubscribed (as far as I know). It's gone.
If you don't want me to keep a personal email you sent me, or you don't want to be quoted, just send me a note and ask me to delete it. I will.
But I hope you won't do any of those things, because I love keeping in touch with you!
Now, on to the fun. Today, we've got:
1) A review
of Whose Body by Dorothy L. Sayers. I mentioned last time that I was reading it. I've read it before and it's interesting to see how you notice different things over time. I saw some problems that never bothered me before. I wonder what you think?
2) If you love dogs, you'll love this cozy mystery bundle, and the best part is that you'll be helping shelter pets just by reading it.
3) Finally, I've got a great deal on a popular
first-in-series mystery for you.
Enjoy!

PS: I hope you find this newsletter fun and useful. But if it's not a good fit for you anymore, you can
unsubscribe any time.
