Medical Clinic Project Launch - EWL
Two months ago, Austin (below) was a healthy 3 yr. old playing with friends and going to school with other kids in rural Liberia. Then whooping cough struck. His parents brought him to all the places they could think of to get him help, but no one had medicine.
The next day they hired transportation to bring him out of the bush to get help, but he died on the way. This is a treatable disease. Austin did not have to die.

EWL learned of Austin’s tragic death from church planter and ReachGlobal missionary, Titus Davis. Knowing that there is no better way to help a woman then to stand alongside her as a mother,
we reached out to Titus to see how we may help prevent other mothers from losing their children to this whooping cough outbreak.
Titus was grateful for the offer and an initial donation was made. That donation provided vaccinations against whooping cough, as well as medicine to fight malaria and a variety of ills that plague
the local population.
This rural area is home to three Muslim villages. For over 50 years they had been hostile to Christianity. During this time, their village elders had been praying
for schools and a clinic to come to their villages, this never happened. However, the elders had become aware of Titus’s work of planting churches and Christian schools. God moved in their hearts and in this past year a group of these Muslim elders traveled to Monrovia to ASK Titus to put a Christian school in their area because they saw how the Christians
were the only ones bringing education to the bush.
After Austin died, when the medicines were brought to their village Titus and the nurses with him told the gospel through the parable of the prodigal son. Titus reports that 100 Muslims heard the teaching on the day of the medical distribution. He said, 50 came back the next day to say they wanted to put their faith in
Jesus. As my friend Titus says, “God is on the move!”
Indeed, God is always on the move. It is a thrill to see a place where He is, and to have an invitation to join Him there. I am hoping that as you’re reading this, you’re sensing that invitation. EWL is being joined by another local Christian nonprofit in raising funds to construct a clinic in the area where Austin used to live. Titus has had professional
drawings made and will oversee the construction, as well as the staffing. As of now he has several trusted Christian volunteers ready to serve. This clinic will provide basic, life-saving care. Who knows how many hearts God will turn to Christ through the healing touch of His servants, and through the message of their testimony?
Looking to the
future...
On May 13th there will be a prayer service and groundbreaking for the clinic. The cost of the foundation for
the building is $8,755. Two thousand has already been raised, praise God! If you would like to join what God is doing in bringing the gospel to Africa, and easing the suffering of families like Austin’s, by donating to this project, we would love to have you join us. You are invited!
Thank you for your prayers and your support. If you’d like to help the work of EWL please contact us. We are happy to answer any of your questions.
If you’d like to donate towards the Medical Clinic Project and training of the women in West Africa...
