The goal of the NCEA is to improve the national response to elder abuse, neglect, and exploitation by gathering, housing, disseminating, and stimulating innovative, validated methods of research, practice, policy, and education.

World Elder Abuse Awareness Day (WEAAD) takes place on June 15 ever year. Planning for WEAAD 2017 is well underway, and we look forward to sharing updated tools and materials to help you plan a WEAAD event in your community. For more information about WEAAD, click here



 State Leadership Initiative
Over the next several months, the NCEA will make a concerted effort to connect with each state to provide mutual support and share elder abuse awareness strategies and materials.

Re-framing Elder Abuse 
The NCEA is working with the Frameworks Institute to change the national public discourse on elder abuse. A committee of experts across the field is currently developing a communication strategy based on research findings on the public's perception of elder abuse.
