Why?

TL;DR

Time for a choice.

This newsletter hasn’t been in your inbox for quite a few months.

Why should you continue following this email? I will provide a few reasons in favor and some against.

First: why should you follow?

- You should follow if you’re passionate about communication presentations, public speaking, and storytelling. In particular, if you want to track the evolution of business storytelling.

- You should follow if you’re not interested in what more corporations have to say but would rather hear from human Matteo about his insights and what he’s learning in his journey as a communication coach and workshopper.

- You should continue following if it doesn’t bother you too much that this human, Matteo, at times, may be focusing on other parts of the business and not devoting their time to a punctual release of the newsletter.

- You should also follow if this has been a tradition: quite a few of you have been on this newsletter for 10+ years. If you have been following me for 10+ years, do you let me know, and let’s celebrate together, maybe with a short zoom hangout?

- You should follow because I plan to release new content in 2023: I’m renovating a new office space. I will be shooting videos full of real-world examples and hard-earned learnings from my daily work, helping individuals and teams gently overcome their communication blockers.

- You should also follow if you’re interested in live events like the one in Berlin, Germany, on November 9: it’s an epic and free business storytelling masterclass. It will be streaming on the Factory Berlin YouTube channel if you are out of town.

Now, to the reasons why you should stop following me:

- I’m a person; I’m not a corporation. My focus and interests change with time, and the subject matter may be inconsistent.

- You should stop following if you believe you are a perfect communicator. If all your presentations are already a success. If you already are excellent by email, in person, on the stage, via calls, and in the metaverse. If your meetings end with cheer and applause.

- You should stop following if you prefer social networks over this more intimate way of connecting through email. But in this case, you should follow me on YouTube, LinkedIn, Instagram , and Twitter.

I hope I have provided you with enough reasons why and why not to make an informed decision about staying with me longer or taking another path.

I value both decisions as the thing that matters the most is that you have agency and power. This newsletter is not a space for algorithms to hijack our attention. This is a space where humans share meaning.

I hope to be welcoming you as a subscriber for another 10+ years.

Thank you for reading this far.
Yours,
Matteo
