I was in the middle of turning around my business when the pandemic hit. I had three crucial proposals out. I had nothing else going on. I was betting on closing these clients.
I needed validation. I wanted proof that I was right. But SARS-CoV-2 hit. Clients stopped responding. Fade to black.
Picking yourself up. Gathering your strength. Setting a new course.
This is what I had to do in March. I created new materials for a webinar on virtual presentations. I published my whole presentation course for free on my site. I started reaching out to
smaller clients while waiting for the big wigs to get back to me.
As work stopped, I started working even harder. At the end of 2019, I had decided to re-focus my business from consulting to teaching. It was a big step. And the last thing that I needed was a natural disaster.
Some clients disappeared; some slowly came back. I applied for some Corona relief funds. After the first weeks, business started slowly picking up. Was I already on the other side? Hard to say. Work was irregular, just like life. A new slowdown, a new lockdown. Would I make it through the year?
