As a Black Woman, I love reflecting on and honoring my intersecting identities in both February (Black History Month) and March (Women's History Month)!

As we approach International Women's Day this Friday, March 8th (and beyond), we must thoughtfully incorporate intersectionality in our commemorations and celebrations. Recognizing the diverse experiences and challenges faced by women across different races, cultures, and backgrounds is essential to empower and uplift all women. 

Together, let's mark this Women's History Month and International Women's Day with our shared commitment to making a difference.

January & February Highlights

Supreme Court & Affirmative Action Panel: I was a featured panelist at the NY State Bar Association's annual meeting, discussing the state of DEI. On the panel, we delved into the implications of the Supreme Court's decision on affirmative action for private employers. The conversation was both sobering and enlightening and I also got to have a little fun afterwards!

At the NYSBA Presidential Gala with Honoree Former Secretary of Homeland Security Jeh Johnson and MBBA President Carl Forbes Jr.

ABA Midyear Meeting: February kicked off with the ABA Midyear meeting in Louisville, KY. As a Commissioner on the Commission on Women in the Legal Profession and a Delegate, the meeting was busy!

I experienced joy when I visited Churchill Downs and the Kentucky Derby Museum

John M. Langston Bar Association Awards Gala in Los Angeles where I celebrated honoree Laurie Robinson Haden.

NBA Corporate Law Section Conference Panel: Moderating the NBA CLS Executive Search Firms Panel in San Antonio, TX, was a highlight!  I loved facilitating the critical discussion on career advancement and the role of search firms.

7/24 - 7/25/24 - NAWL Annual Meeting: I’m excited to be one of the keynote speakers at the annual meeting in Chicago where we will celebrate the 125th anniversary of the National Association of Women Lawyers!
