Blog Your Heart Out: We're nearly there!

Published: Fri, 02/27/15

Like with so many things, the time has gone so fast.

In just a couple of days we'll all fly away, like little birds.  Hopefully, like little birds, we'll keep connecting -- singing praises to one another as we post our work on the FB page, inspiring one another with our words, sharing the lessons we're learning along the way.

This morning, as I was thinking about what I wanted to say to you all, I found myself again and again going back to the Blog Your Heart Out Community and allowing the amazing things that are being said there blow my heart and spirit open.

Here's a couple of the beautiful interactions that caught my fancy:

I am loving this work -- I'm going through my journals from the past two years and underlining passages that are stirring my soul.  These are treasures I have written!  Mining them for gold... I just set up my Wordpress Blog Site, too... Beautiful things to come!

-- Regina Orlando

I just published a post on self-love... it is my third post on my blog, and I'm excited because I have officially made it further than I have with other blogs I tried to start in the past.  Thanks to everyone in this group for the inspiration and sharing your stories!

-- Erin Elizabeth

There is a large part of ME that is dead when I refuse to tell the story -- my story.  My story eeeks and oozes out in poetry, prose, articles, and even in the children's story that's not letting me forget it needs to be told.  The more I'm willing to put ME on the page, the more the "right" audience will connect with my story... My story is my unique experience and perception... it's part of my calling, to strip naked, to be vulnerable, be silly, be wise, be-not-so-wise, and most of all to make cracks in paradigms and create space for authenticity...

-- Star Emm

I actually have about 15 other amazing snippets written down, but I'm philosophically opposed to insanely long emails, especially on Friday afternoons.  So if you want more, you'll just have to check out the FB Group.

One thing that has come up for many folks is the feeling of being behind, though, so I want to chat about that just a bit.  The first thing is that I think having a beautiful overload of creative possibilities thrown at you -- a massive call to action, creatively speaking -- is intrinsic to the fact that we are in a "Challenge."  It's meant to be challenging!

But not doing every single task isn't the same as failure or being behind-- not even close.

It's essential that we don't compare our output to the amount of work that theoretically could be done, or to what we think other people might have done.  To me, the most important things that any of us can get out of a two-week Challenge is connecting to a community of like-minded, supportive folks, and pushing ourselves to the next level from wherever we were at the beginning -- which is going to look different for each of us, because we all began in different places and came to the challenge with our own unique gifts and challenges.

So don't go there -- into what might have been, and use that to flog yourself. Spend today taking stock of what you have accomplished in these two weeks, and dreaming of what comes next.

  • Did you create a bevy of raw material from the prompts and images, which is just waiting to be mined and curated into blog posts for the future?
  • Have you begun cultivating self-loving practices so that your words come through a clear channel and you can sustain your writing habit over the long haul?
  • Have you generated a list of possible topics -- or maybe even begun an editorial calendar -- that can keep you safe from the dreaded "blank page syndrome" for next couple of weeks or months?
  • Did you write your first, or second, or tenth blog post?
As I mentioned yesterday, for those of us who are ready to take whatever we've achieved during the Challenge and keep going, I've decided to extend two special opportunities to you over the next two weeks.

The first is the Blog Your Heart Out Guide, which will contain and expand upon all of the prompts, practices, and exercises of the last two weeks.

All of the material has been reformatted in a beautiful, easy-to-complete fill-in-the-blank workbook format, plus:
  • Audio files of all of the writing meditations we've done together (which usually only my one-on-one clients have access to)
  • Done-For-You editorial calendars and other materials
  • My Top Ten Writing Prompts to Get You Unblocked, Instantly
  • An intimate, live, 90-minute laser coaching call where I'll turn all of my heart and mind towards your toughest writing conundrums.
I really want this to be accessible to anyone who wants to continue deepening into the powerful work we've been doing over the past couple of weeks, so I'm offering this package for $97.

Secondly, if you are ready to take your writing to the next level and want a deeper level of support to get crystal clear on your message, where to go next with your writing, how to cultivate a sustainable, pleasure-filled writing practice, publishing, and receive professional feedback on your work, I'm opening up my calendar for 5 one-on-one, 75-minute coaching sessions.

I don't offer these tete-a-tete, highly focused, single sessions often, but I've been so inspired by the depth and passion that I've witnessed during the Challenge that it just felt right.  The investment for these is $247 -- and I'll even throw in the Blog Your Heart Out Guidebook for FREE.

Again, there's only five spots for these one-on-one sessions, so if you'd like one of them to be yours, drop me an email!
