How To Heal...

Published: Tue, 12/13/16

Hi ,

Healing seems to be a mystery to many of us. I want to share with you that it is not a mystery. Metaphorically speaking, it’s like the cream between two Oreos. It’s the sustenance that holds the exterior together.

Obviously, by no means Oreos are healthy, so let’s just run with this fun idea, shall we? 😊

When you are healing, you are literally creating the “cream,” so to speak, to hold an abundant, purposeful, fulfilled, happy, and loving life together.

In reality, this is the gap that most people struggle to grasp. We are so used to abusing our body, ignoring our body, taking our body for granted, and not having a relationship with ourselves from the neck down. We become habitually great at this negative, fearful, self-perpetuating behavior. Then, we end up not feeling well, go to the doctor, and end up with a diagnosis and say to ourselves, “I don’t understand why or how I got here.” But we do. We are just choosing to not pay attention. We are not living consciously, lovingly, and healthfully. And when we don’t pay attention, things get worse. Things get painful. And our lives and well-being become threatened and life becomes hard, mediocre, and unenjoyable.

After the diagnosis, the mystery piece comes in and you say to yourself, “Well, I don’t understand how I got here, so how am I supposed to get out of it?  Why me?” and the lowness continues to expand.

In this moment, the focus is to start taking positive action now to heal and not go backwards to focus on the “how” you got sick because that will become obvious as you to practice healing.

This is the gap. The gap between being unhealthy to being healthy. The gap is healing to become healthy.

Now, you may be asking, “Then, how do I heal, Laura?”

Below are three keys to help get you started:

#1 BELIEVE

You must believe that you CAN heal. Any time you doubt that you can be healthy literally will keep you stuck in your illness. Our minds are powerful beyond measure and to our awareness. If you choose to hold on to your old habits, old ways of thinking and old ways of believing, then the process will be that much more difficult for you.

💖#2 SELF-LOVE💖

Start practicing self-love on daily basis. What does that look like to you? For some it means spending time in nature, reading a book, watching a movie, spending time with friends and loved ones, journaling, exercising, meditating, or taking a relaxing bath with healing salts. You get to choose and realize that living with illness equals a lack of self-love.

🍃#3 COMMITMENT🍃

On a scale of 1 to 5 (and 5 being the highest), what is your commitment level to your healing process? Based on the number you choose, those are the exact results you are going to receive. This is so important and where most goals are not achieved because of our lack of commitment. We allow external circumstances to impact our actions. Stop making excuses.

👨👩👦👦#4 SUPPORT👨👩👦👦

We live in a society that is so disconnected from human to human connection. We hold the power to change it. We are HUMAN BEINGS. We need other humans to love and support us, especially when we are improving our lives for the better. This is why coaches, mentors, and groups are key to successfully achieving results. Successful people do not do it alone. Allowing support into our lives holds us accountable and responsible for keeping our word. Who is your biggest supporter and won’t let you off the hook?

I hope these keys were helpful for you.
