Hi
At the recent ABAI event in Boston, I had the chance to catch up with my good buddy Miguel Avila (the guy Pat is pointing to). Miguel is not only an awesome guy, but he's also a long-time BOP listener.
When we were chatting, Miguel remarked that the podcast is coming up on its 200th episode soon, and urged me to do a special episode to celebrate this milestone. Miguel always has great ideas for shows. In fact, he was instrumental in arranging another milestone episode that you can check out here.
The Session 100 episode where Greg Hanley interviewed me was a ton of fun, but I've always maintained that this show is about the listeners, not the host.
So for Session 200, I'd like to play a collection of clips that highlight passages from guests that were particularly meaningful for you. And here's where I'll need some help.
In an ideal world, I would love to get the following:
- The Session #'s and guest names of an episode or two that you really enjoyed, and,
- A specific time-stamp of where a guest said something that was particularly meaningful to you (I know this is a huge ask, but this will be instrumental for me to clip the audio segment to replay for the 200th show). For what it's worth, I find the search capabilities of YouTube and Google Podcasts to be better than that of Apple Podcasts, though your milage may vary.
If you're up for this, I also challenge you to highlight less well-known guests who nonetheless brought great information to the podcast.
If I can get enough samples, I'll curate these clips into an episode. I'll also try to include whatever thoughts on those segments that you have as well. You can send these to
[email protected].
Lastly, I'd like to acknowledge that this is a bit of an experiment, so depending on how many people do or don't contribute to this, I may go in a different direction. That said, Miguel and I thought this would be something fun, both for long time listeners, as well as for folks who recently discovered the show and are consuming the back catalog.
Regardless of whether this endeavor materializes into an episode or not, I cannot overstate how grateful I am for everyone who takes the time to download and listen to these shows. Making these podcasts and sharing them with you has been the highlight of my 20+ years in this field.
Thanks!
Matt
