Â
Hi
Â
I'm going to be interviewing some speakers from the upcoming 2023 Verbal Behavior Conference shortly.Â
Â
Next Monday morning, I'll be talking with Dr. Lina Slim, about her work consulting all over the world, practicing as both an SLP and BCBA, and lots more. Shortly thereafter, I'm chatting with Troy Fry, who, along with Dr. Pat McGreevy, has pioneered appropriate and effective treatment using the Essential
for Living protocols.Â
Â
These should be fun podcasts, but I'm even more so looking forward to their presentations at this year's VBC. They'll be presenting alongside Drs. Einar Ingvarsson, Andresa De Sousa, Sarah Frampton, and Sarah Bergman (as well as the aforementioned Dr. McGreevy, who still manages to evoke the right mix of laughter and tears with his talks).Â
Â
I'll also be moderating a panel of these great speakers, which is like herding cats at times, but is nonetheless a good time.Â
Â
This is all happening on March 30th and 31st in Austin, Texas. Last year was the first time I
was able to attend in person, and I am so glad I did. I met a ton of people, got to see a bit of the country I wasn't familiar with, and all in all, had a great time.Â
Â
One of the things I enjoyed the most about last year's event was seeing just how much time the speakers spent with the attendees. I saw countless spontaneous conversations, not only during the happy hour at the conclusion of the
first day, but in other moments between talks, getting coffee refills, and so on.Â
Â
At the same time, traveling presents understandable barriers, so if you're not able to make it, please consider attending virtually. Chris and the rest of the BehaviorLive crew have really nailed the virtual conference format, so if you attend remotely, we'll miss you, but you'll still get a great
experience.Â
Â
All the best,
Matt
