"The Profound Autism Summit is a one day conference bringing together leaders from the areas of research, medicine, treatment, advocacy, education, and human services to discuss the needs of those with Profound Autism across disciplines and throughout
the lifespan."
When I first heard about this event, I knew I wanted to get involved in some way or another. I reached out to the conference organizers and offered to do some promotion pro bono, because I believe the issues and challenges faced by individuals who require the most intense supports need to be discussed more.
In fact, in a subsequent podcast, I'll be interviewing one of the presenters from this event, where I suspect we'll get
into this topic more thoroughly.
Back to the conference: The PAS is a multi-track, 1-day conference that is taking place in Burlington, Massachusetts on Friday April 5th. You can find out how to register here (and huge thanks to conference co-chair Katherine Johnson from the Nashoba Learning Group for bringing me
up to speed re: all the great plans for this event!).
While it is not available online, the events will be available for remote purchase down the road. What's even better is that the sessions will be for sale in an a la carte format, which means you only pay for the ones you want. If you want to learn more about that option, please consider signing up for their newsletter, which will keep you up to date.
Is this just a behavior-analytic conference? Not quite. While there are plenty of names from the ABA space that will be familiar to you (including some guy named Greg something-or-other...), and plenty of CEUs available, you'll also have the opportunity to hear from parents, emergency services personnel, advocacy groups, neuroscientists, medical doctors, and more. You can get the
full rundown of all the topics here.
I hope to see you there!
All the best,
Matt
