Session 14 Sneak Peek!

Published: Fri, 10/28/16

Hi

TGIF, right?

I don't know about you, but it's been a long week for me, not only with the normal day to day stuff, but getting my kids ready for Halloween too (well... it's more like assisting my wife, who really is the one who gets the kids' costumes, etc... ready to go ;-).

In doing so, I almost forgot to send out a sneak peek regarding the next guest on the podcast. On Monday, I will be publishing an interview with Dr. Mark Dixon from Southern Illinois University. He is known more recently as the author of the PEAK curriculum, but in this episode we talk about his book, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy for Children with Autism and Emotional Challenges

I've had this interview recorded for several months, and I've been holding off on publishing it because this book is so popular, it is always out of stock on Amazon, and I don't want to get you all psyched up for something that you can't get your hands on.

However, in the past few days, I've been informed that Amazon should be getting more books in stock, and even if those sell out, I think it's time to bite the bullet and just publish the interview.

ACT is based on Relational Frame Theory (RFT), and if this is something you're not familiar with, I highly recommend checking out bSci21.org's ABA Outside the Box CE, Conversations That Drive Performance. While the CE is ostensibly about providing feedback, Dr. Scott Herbst goes into a little RFT in the training and provides a nice overview of what it is, and why it is important.

Anyhow, that's all I have for this Friday morning. Go out and have a great weekend, and stay tunes for Monday's show.

All the best,
Matt
