Hi
In our conversation, Erin talks about how the underpinnings of this line of work
is grounded in animal models of obesity and behavioral economics. For those who don't have an EAB background, don't be intimidated. Erin masterfully walks the listener through many of the basic behavioral concepts, and relates them to her current research questions.
While this is a conversation about obesity and behavioral economics, we also talk about interventions, particularly those interventions using mindfulness based strategies (which is also part of her
study).
Erin is also a fitness enthusiast, and we close the conversation with a discussion on workout and nutrition fads, how to identify problematic or potentially harmful diet trends, and what the research actually says about successful weight loss/maintenance.
I'll try to get this interview edited and uploaded ASAP!
All the
best,
Matt
