Free CEU, upcoming guest info, and call for questions

Published: Mon, 12/04/17

Hi

I thought I'd send out a quick email to start the week off. Here's a few things I want to give you a heads up on:

First, back by popular demand, the incomparable Pat Friman will be returning to the show! His previous two appearances have been some of the most popular episodes, and I suspect this one will be really good too.

Pat has been doing some workshops on public speaking (as well as publishing articles about this topic as well). Given the need to present oneself effectively, I though this would be helpful information to talk about on the show.

So here is where I'd like some help. Specifically, I'd love to feature your questions on giving presentations. You can send them in by simply replying to this email, connecting with me on social media, or by leaving a voice mail.

"Wait, what? Voicemail?!?!" you say?

Yes. If you go to the contact page at behavioralobservations.com, you'll see a gray rectangular button on the right side of the page that says "send voicemail." In fact, you'll see it on all pages on the site. Click on it, and follow the directions from there to leave your concisely-stated question for Pat. If I can master the technology between now and when I conduct the interview, I'll play your voicemail on the show. It will be almost like talking directly to Pat.

Speaking of talking directly with guests, Rick Kubina will be joining me for a membership hangout on December 20th at 8 PM Eastern Daylight Time. Once 2018 rolls around, Manny Rodriguez will be joining us in January at a date TBD. The membership hangouts are a lot of fun, and it is a chance to chat with likeminded behavior-folks who can help you answer questions about our practice. Greg Hanley has told me that he is game for a hangout as well, but his schedule is hectic so I don't have a firm date on his appearance yet.

Oh, and about that free CEU... If you tuned into the last few episodes of the show, you'll recall that Chartlytics is one of our new sponsors. They've put together a Precision Teaching Starter Package for listeners to the show. It includes a free Type 2 CEU, as well as Precision Teaching e-Book. There's also a really cool video that tells the story of a clinic's experience transitioning a Precision Teaching approach with the help of Chartlytics (shout out to the folks at Shining Through!). Click here to check it out.

I'll be doing a deep dive into PT when I head to Rick's 2-day workshop in a few days, so I'm psyched to find out what all the fuss is about. I'll be sure to share my experience with this event when I get back.

Talk soon,
Matt
