Hi
In a few days, I'll have the distinct privilege of interviewing Celia Heyman, MA, BCBA & Lauren Kryzak, PhD, BCBA-D!
Celia is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. She has been providing behavior analytic services to learners ranging from Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 12. As a clinician, Ms. Heyman has provided training to professional staff and families as well as providing tutoring services to individuals preparing for the national credential in behavior analysis. She has held adjunct professorship with Rider University and is currently an adjunct professor with Capella University.
Lauren obtained her Doctoral degree in Learning Processes and Behavior Analysis from the Graduate Center of CUNY. She has provided ABA services for learners for 10 years and became a Board Certified Behavior Analyst in 2011. She has worked with learners, ages 2-21 years, across home, school, and community settings to address skill deficits and behavior reduction goals. She is published in peer-reviewed journals, including the Journal of Applied Behavior Analysis, Journal of Intellectual
Disabilities, Journal of Developmental and Physical Disabilities, and Developmental Neurorehabilitation.
We plan on having a roundtable discussion on best practices in supervision. Celia and Lauren recently conducted a workshop at this year's New Jersey ABA, titled, When the Mentee becomes the Mentor: How to use Behavior Analysis to train future BCBAs, and I suspect the topic of mentorship will come up a lot in our chat.
Supervision is one of the most important challenges our rapidly growing field faces, so if you have questions on this topic, please respond to this message!
All the best,
Matt
