Hi
I was fortunate enough to have
Jim Johnston as my major professor as a grad student, and I remember him telling us something to the effect that if you don't measure your own behavior, you're not a
real behavior analyst.
He may have been a little facetious, or perhaps I'm mis-remembering after 20+ years, but either way, this quarantine has provided opportunities for people to develop a whole host of personal development repertoires.
From exercising, to cooking, to picking up long-ignored musical instruments, many of us are using some of this time to learn new skills. For me, I've been using the Standard Celeration Chart to help track my progress, which has been really helpful.
It turns out that this is exactly what many of the Precision Teaching pros do as well. To that end, I have invited former podcast guest and Director of Clinical Programming for Central Reach, Dr. Kerri Milyko, to join the BOP membership group to talk about how we can use the chart for personal growth. I'm also trying to get a few other special guests to join us too, and will let you know who they are as soon as they've committed to the date.
This is happening on May 20th, at 5 PM EST. It'll go for 60-90 minutes most likely.
This will be a members-only event, where participants will have opportunities to submit their questions directly, so if you're interested in joining,
Also, becoming a member allows you to access previous member hangouts, including an informative, and dare I say inspiring Q and A with Dr. Greg Hanley that was held last month.
If you already are a member, then let me take this opportunity to thank you for supporting the show. If you have friends or colleagues who might be interested in becoming one as well, please use the share buttons below and give them a heads up.
Hope to see you there!
Matt
