Arguments are part of life aren't they? But there is a difference between two grown people having a difference of opinion and the inner child / teenager/ stroppy 22 year old who get triggered when we are taken by surprise, or
caught off guard with a comment. Next time you are having 'a discussion' with someone, have a moment where you look into yourself and feel how old you are. Most of the time it is one of the ages above and not the grown up that you are. If you can learn to stop, take a breath and say the following you could just agree to disagree with both of you feeling valid and heard.
"Thank you for your opinion. I happen to have a different one but I have heard you and respect what you say. Could we agree to that and move on?"
