As usual, type your search terms
into Google’s search bar.
• To find local employers:
For example, to find local software companies, search for "software companies near me." Or, to find local pharmaceutical companies, search for "pharmaceutical companies near me."
• To find local branches of big employers:
Maybe you want to work for the branch of a national or international employer like Bank of America or McDonald’s. To ask Google to find them, use these searches: "Bank of American locations near me" or "McDonald’s locations near me."
• To find employers in a different location:
Specify the location, and Google will show you the employers. Just replace the "near me" in the searches above with your target location. So, to find software companies in Boston search for "software companies Boston" or to find pharmaceutical companies in the Dallas area, “pharmaceutical companies Dallas.”
Google can also find employers in more generic areas. For example, to find employers in the East Bay area near San Francisco, use "East Bay, CA" as the geography you want Google to search.
