Every month we run through a series of questions to help you run your freelance business like a bigger business—“self-coaching” your way to better results and a better life. You can view a condensed version of this month’s coaching prompts here.
As much as good marketing habits are the heart of your freelance business, you can waste a TON of time if you don’t get one other thing right...and that’s positioning.
This CMO month, we’re going to be covering positioning—how you frame your business to your market—from a few angles.
- Why it’s important
- Choosing the best market
- Talking value
- Speaking from a problem perspective
- Refining over time
#3 Do I have a value mindset?
A lot of things change as you grow as a freelancer, but one doesn’t—and that’s the importance of thinking of things from the perspective of value...
This means value
you offer your market, your clients, and even individual contacts and other people within an organization.
It might be driving more business, or even freeing your contact to work on projects that will help them avoid a layoff. It might be making an entire department’s life easier by reducing stress because you help them get work done.
Think this way, and nailing
your positioning gets a lot easier.
