It should be an super nice weekend to enjoy friends and family. Since were are in the "Thanks" season, why not brighten someone's day with a kind word or a smile while you are at it

We know that Rossmoor Rocks when it comes to volunteering and helping others. And there are many ways to volunteer. There's community service (Red Cross, CERT, RHA, at our schools, etc.), religious organizations (churches, synagogues, etc.), Scouting/youth programs, medical programs (at hospitals, Cancer Society, Alzheimer's Center, Heart Association, etc.), and and working with those organizations that feed people in need like
Second Harvest.
Our question for you is, where do you and your family volunteer?

Rossmoor Christmas Lights Celebration
|
It's Up On the Rooftop Time
There’s nothing quite like the joy of relaxing in a lounge chair across the street from your house, with your favorite beverage in hand, admiring the Christmas Lights display you broke your back assembling over the past few days.
Hang on! We’re not encouraging any lounge chairs, yet!! (*drum roll*) It’s that time of year! It’s time for you to bask in the holiday cheer and spread the Christmas spirit to all of Rossmoor!
Yes, the Rossmoor Christmas Lights Celebration is back for its 15th year, and we’re calling on all the Christmas Lights veteran crazies (and 1st-time rookie entrants) to unpack the boxes of colored lights, winter wonderland figures, and anything that glows to prepare a display across your house and lawn for all to enjoy. On certain streets, there may even be a few Woodstocks stowed away
in those boxes?
Let the decorating and festivities begin!
Start by signing your house up (or a well-decorated neighbor’s house) for the RHA Christmas Lights Celebration! Judges will roam the streets on Sunday, December 12th and winning homes will be announced here on the RHA website by Wednesday, December 15th.
We will have prizes for those that nominate decked out houses too, so get the scoop and start getting ready. Things start to get popping right after Thanksgiving!
Complete schedule and details (including the Lights Bike Tour) here.

educational results because its dedicated staff, talented teachers, and effective administrators. Pulver went on to say “we focus on every student every day.”
Dr. Pulver said the District believes in all kids and that each child belongs to all of us. He said, “we must speak life to them, encourage them and affirm them.” Pulver also presented the District’s core values of care, responsibility, equity and commitment.
He shared that we should run toward those who need us the most because every kid is only one influential adult away from becoming a success story.

Our Annual Rossmoor Toy Drive runs the full month of November!
The needs of local families served by The Youth Center's holiday program have never been greater. There are so many families in need. Please make a toy or cash donation if you are able to.
There are two ways to you can help. First, you can go shopping and purchase gifts for children ages 3 to 17 and drop them off at Ganahl Lumber, the Friends of the Los Alamitos-Rossmoor Library, or The Youth Center (addresses above) during regular business hours.
Or the second way, makes it super easy for you by letting The Youth Center team take care of the buying for you. You can do this by making a donation to The Youth Center (click here) and you may even be able to deduct the gift on your taxes.
