Hi
We have officially hit the busiest two months of the year. But before we get to the events and happenings, let's check in with the weather.
It
looks like we will have a nice weekend with highs in the low 70s. Then starting Monday afternoon through midday Tuesday, it looks like wea re in for a bit of rain. This looks like it will be the pattern for the winter season as well. Colder than normal and wetter than normal. Now if we can just get 140% to 180% of normal snow pack in the Sierra and Rockies this winter we may start to see our lakes and rivers increasing toward normal. It will take years to fill up the lakes.
On to
the events and happenings....
Fall Back on Sunday Morning
It's that time of the year when we get to adjust our clocks back an hour. The good news is that most phones and computers take care of the adjustment for you. It's the analog clocks, ovens, microwaves and many cars that need the manual
adjustments. It's also a great time to test your smoke detectors too (more on that below). The best part though is that we get an extra hour of sleep. Enjoy your extra sleep and you're welcome! :)
Sweeping on Monday This Week
Monday is
November 7th, the first Monday of the month. So it is a sweeping day for the ODD addresses. Please move your vehicles and waste carts off the ODD side of the street on Monday. Fear not, a week from today, the odd sides will get swept.
Hopkinson Fundraiser All Day Wednesday (11/9)
Hopkinson School is holding a fund raiser at Mama's this Wednesday. Stop by for breakfast, lunch or dinner and the school will get up to 30% of the proceeds. Pretty nice deal since you were going to eat out any way. Right? See the
flyer below.
Rossmoor Toy Drive for The Youth Center
It is that time of year to kick off the Rossmoor Toy Drive that benefits The Youth Center. Help local families who are struggling this year with a gift or gift card. We will have more details on the program in our next email (this one is getting longer
than expected already!). We will be collecting from Saturday (11/5) all the way through the Rossmoor Winter Festival on Saturday December 10th. The flyer below has the details.
