Hopkinson and Rossmoor Schools will participate next Wednesday (10/19).  If you are out and about tomorrow morning near either park or the routes to the schools, please use caution and expect some delays
as the student, staff, and parent walkers cross the streets on their way to school.  October's Get Shredded - Saturday October 29th Bring your shredding to our free quarterly shredding event on Saturday, October 29th at Rush Park. We'll be there from 8:00 until noon. hope to see you there so you can be
rid of all those documents you want to shred before the holidays arrive.  Kids Night Out - Perhaps Parent Date Night? The Youth Center is hosting "Kids Night Out" on Friday, October 21st at Rush Park. This may be an

details here  Did you see this? October is National Pedestrian Safety Month and OC Sheriff has been awarded a $555,000 grant to deter unsafe behaviors, increase safety on roads. Details here. And, here are some pedestrian safety tips from our OC Sheriff Department and First District Supervisor Do's office: Drivers - Do not speed (Rossmoor speed limit is 25 MPH)
- Slow down at all intersectionsÂ
- Be prepared to stop for pedestrians at marked and unmarked crosswalks.
- Avoid blocking crosswalks while waiting to make a right-hand turn.
- Never drive under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.
Pedestrians - Use signalized crosswalks
whenever possible as drivers expect foot traffic there.
- Watch for approaching vehicles and be careful crossing the street, especially busier streets with higher speed limits. At 30 mph, a driver needs at least 90 feet to come to a stop.
- Get in the habit of wearing light colors, reflective material, and walking with a flashlight at night so
it is easier for drivers to see you.

New Sweeping Reminder Signs To Be
Installed |
Due to popular demand and regulations, the Orange County Public Works Department will begin installing no parking signs on streets throughout Rossmoor. The hopes are that these signs
will help remind people which side of the street is being swept on which days. The reminder sign program should help everyone be much clearer about when they need to move their vehicles (and waste carts) from the street. The signs will begin to appear the week of October 17th and will eventually become part of every block in the tract. It’s Not About the Signs, It’s the
EnvironmentRemember, that it’s not about the signs or the parking ticket you may get for ignoring them. It’s about our streets and the way they affect our environment. Everyone plays a part in keeping our storm drains clear – just because you don’t see things in your gutter,
doesn’t mean your street is clean! Keep our oceans (we drain to Seal Beach) clean. Our families (and fish) swim in them!

Farmers Market - Thursday Andrew Do
Visits |
Remember  every Thursday, the Rossmoor Farmers Market happens at Rush Park. Meet some neighbors, listen to some live music, grab a snack or cup of coffee, and support our local vendors. Keep the Market the happening place it is becoming.  This week our District 1 Supervisor, Andrew Do, will stop by the Market for coffee with Rossmoor.
Come out and grab a nice hot cup of "joe" and ask the Supervisor any questions you may have while you get to know him a little better. This is a great opportunity to join your neighbors at the Framers Market for some great food and drinks. Â This week's featured vendor is Smokin Crackers. Founded by The Crackers Lady back in 2015, Smokin' Crackers are ideally suited to create new and exciting delight at your very first bite. Well known for selling delectable
artisan crackers, dips and luxury snacks in both Dallas and Southern California, Smokin' Crackers is worth stopping by for a taste treat to excite your senses. They serve a large assortment of tasty original seasoned crackers and while the selection changes based on season, their ingredients and how the creative original seasoned crackers taste will leave you with a smile. Need advice on seasoned crackers flavors? Are you spoiled
for choice? Just head over to one of them, and they'll have you sorted. The Market is open from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. See you
there!
