Hi
So now we have a few days in the 80's before we settle back into the low 70's for the weekend and into next week. It's going to be an ideal Halloween on Sunday evening.
It's a busy time here in Rossmoor and with the holidays now upon us, it seems like the race to the end of the year is on. Please be careful if you are out driving on Halloween evening.
If you are out and about in the urban forest we call Rossmoor, take a look around and see who's in the holiday spirit and let us know so we can recognize them. You only have until tomorrow night to make your nominations! Nomination Deadline: 11:59 p.m. Wednesday, October 27, 2021.

Supervisorial Redistricting Map Proposals
|
The County of Orange has received eight (8) proposals for how to redraw the County Supervisorial Districts for the next 10 years. Redistricting is the regular process of adjusting the lines of voting districts, including Orange County’s Supervisorial Districts, in accordance with population shifts. The redistricting process is done every 10 years
for local, state, and federal governmental bodies by using updated Census data.
These maps only apply to the Supervisorial Districts and will apply to the upcoming June 2022 elections. These maps are strictly about how the County's Supervisorial District lines are drawn.
Please take a look at the maps and share your thoughts with us and the county.
NOTE: An additional proposed map resource has been added to the article

Are You Able To Lend A
Hand?
|
We were notified by Galynn Tran that long-time residents, the Farajian Family, have been having some health challenges and could use some family meal assistance. Once upon a time, without
thinking twice, Rossmoor neighbors would help their neighbors with meals when significant challenges in life arose. The Farajian family would be the first in line to assist. And now, they can use some help.
If you are so included to help out, you can check out the details here and sign up to provide a meal. This kind of neighborly support is one of the things that makes Rossmoor special. Let's carry on the tradition.

The Youth Center Requests...
|
Every once and a while, The Youth Center runs across a specific need or two that they can use a hand with and hopefully, the Rossmoor Community can assist.
Youth Center Director Lina Lumme recently made the following requests:
1. Our refrigerator is dying slowly!!! And we would love to get a new "used" one. If anyone wants to donate their gently used refrigerator for kids, that would be very helpful in keeping snacks and drinks for kids.
2. IPhones (gently used and unlocked) We use them at our after school locations as we don't have a landline and if our phones break purchasing a new one is super expensive. We would like to have one or two backups. Any model.
3. Holiday ornaments (wood, plastic, metal, etc. please no glass.). Gently used or new ornaments for kids projects. And handmade recycled projects we create to sell at our Christmas Tree Lot to raise money for Youth Center scholarships.
Your donation may be 2021 tax deductible (check with your tax advisor) and in any case you can receive a gift-receipt from The Youth Center. Just ask
If you are able to assist, please call The Youth Center (562.493.4043) to make arrangements.
Thanks for your support of this great community asset.
