Are you looking out your window? Can you identify the bird perched on the branch outside, welcoming Spring? If not, you might have missed learning such things from your Elders, or perhaps it was erased from your children's dictionary and replaced with a term like hard drive.
It recently came to my attention that a book published in 2018 called
The Lost Words is based on the fact that 40 words related to nature
(like acorn, dandelion, and wren) were eliminated from a children's dictionary and replaced with words more commonly used today, like attachment, blog, and broadband. This feels like an alarm just sounded, one that reminds us to stay connected to nature for all the gifts, beauty, and
healing nature has to offer.
The ways of healing naturally may feel far away from what modern medicine has to offer. I remember when my mother applied heat to an earache, or just sat with me and rubbed my feet if I felt unwell. Taking time to breathe, or even notice that you're breathing (or not) can make such a huge difference in your health - and it's reasonably priced. :)
I'm excited about the possibilities for healing when I speak with someone about their traumas and burdens. They seek me out because I have a strong, unshakeable belief that the body knows how to heal. . . and so do they.
If you're like me, you know that the ways of healing aren't lost - maybe just temporarily forgotten. As sharp eyes see that old ways have unique value - do no harm, create balance, feel nourishing, clearing, and, well, healing - the lost ways become found once again.
I believe you also have this same underlying principle that guides your healing process. You seek out detoxification to have clarity of body, mind, and spirit. You tune-in to what your body needs, like whole foods, space away from electronics, good sleep, and an acute sense of intuition.
FOUND
Over the years I've come to rely on these simple foundations for health and healing. They're vibrational and resonate with higher frequencies we all crave in order to live well. In fact, everything I do, I also teach. Let your healing be Second Nature.
