When I look at the map of my life I see that many roads brought me to where I am today . . .
The School Road - a bumpy start! . . . and still learning every day. I didn't start out as a stellar student. I had problems focusing and reading, but somehow managed to graduate with honors.
The Religious Road - I hated the rules - not being able to eat before communion, for example. I threw up on the church steps. But spirituality? Now that's a huge focus for me.
The Nature Road - I find more peace in being outside, lying on the earth or wading in the ocean. Animals, stars, trees, crystals . . . they're all my friends.
The Teaching Road - I think this started early in life. I was showing other kids in elementary school how to draw roses, how to do math, and how to use a magnifying glass to focus light for heat (aka start a fire). Yes, that one got me in trouble.
Marriage and travel - Living in Asia and Europe, teaching abroad, visiting shrines and castles, Fujiama, Alps, lakes, different foods and tastes, cultures, and experiences . . . so fortunate to leave home to find home.
You didn't ask for a smooth, boring life.
