I finally feel equipped to truly understand how a small business makes money online.
It’s been 14 years of being a student of growing a business from “home” with no boss and can work anywhere at anytime (even if there is no
internet connection)!
There are many ways to make a living online. Not just one. There are literally hundreds of thousands of ways!
But interestingly enough, they all share key elements for success. Recognizing these common traits makes it easy to identify lucrative opportunities.
We only have a limited amount
of time and resources, so we need to be smart about the direction we will take to earn a real living or serious side income - as there are amazing opportunities out there.
We need to make the right choices MORE than we make the wrong ones.
Sure we will get it wrong every now and again, (I sure did!!) but you get back up and you get smarter in the process!
The movie Cocktail really had an impact on me…in many ways!

But this one scene in the movie taught me a major lesson on how I operate my
business today as an entrepreneur with a small team, a pickleball tournament enthusiast, an influencer, an author, a smart ass, etc. etc.
In Cocktail there's a memorable scene where Tom Cruise's character, Brian Flanagan, is sitting with Jordan Mooney, played by Elisabeth Shue. They are on a romantic date, getting to know each other better in a beautiful setting, cuz ya know, she’s loaded.
Brian with his head in the clouds, shares an anecdote about how someone made millions by inventing plastic tips for shoelaces.
You remember the scene right?
A shoelace tip is something so simple, yet essential for shoe businesses around the world—until the next genius idea steps in!

This idea really hits home for me.
Presently, whenever I evaluate projects, if it’s too complex and too many moving parts, or just too much resistance, it’s not for me.
If it's easy and seamless, like a breath of fresh air, that's the project I choose. It's usually the most successful in the end.
Keep it simple—it really is that simple!
