It's time to take your medicine!
Sunday, March 19th is "Let's Laugh Day!"
While working on my dissertation, I spent a lot of time studying the benefits of humor.
Laughter can help decrease your stress and anxiety and can also help boost your immune system. Who couldn't use that in today's world?
Your tip for today:
Try to sprinkle a little laughter into your life every day.
How can you add a little humor to your life?
Kids are a great resource - they say and do the darndest things. You can find all kinds of ways to have fun laughing with your kids.
You can also use laughter to Take Care of the Care Taker!
When you have a few moments to yourself (i.e., when you are brushing your teeth?) think of a few things that make you laugh. What makes you laugh? Either a little giggle or a full-out belly
laugh is it: Reading the comics? Watching funny movies? Talking with a friend on the phone? Memes? Gifs? Listening to the Comedy station on the radio? Telling jokes? Reminiscing funny experiences and events that happened in your life?
When I trained to
become a Certified Laughter Leader we were encouraged to find someone to check in and to laugh with, every day. For a long while I had a laughter partner and we would send each other jokes and giggles each day.
Over time, I've found that I
expanded and can laugh at, I mean, with lots of different people. I still try to find at least one thing that makes me laugh every day.
