Today's Tip applies to Taking Care of the Care Taker
Can you Take a Break?
I've been thinking about Labor Day coming up and how much we parents
labor while taking care of our children.
Yes! Most of it is a labor of love but it is still laboring... that's why I thought I'd ask if you could take a break.
Having a wonderful, warm cooked meal on your table every morning is a wonderful gift you can give your family.
However, when things are rough, or if you are not a morning person (🙋♀️), it is 100% OK to give a gift to yourself when it comes to breakfast.
If you have time to plan in advance, weekly or monthly meal planning can come in very
handy. There are also some great "Freezer breakfasts" out there you can make in advance and just pop out/heat up in the morning.
However, as long as your kids are fed - hopefully with something nutritious (most days) in their little bodies, they will
survive!
And... if you've been in one of my presentations, you know that you can teach them to make their own breakfasts at a pretty young age! With a little preparation and supervision on your part, your kids can do amazing things - including make their
own breakfast.
So, give your self a break (=sleep an extra 15 minutes?!) and help teach your child a life skill they need and can use for many years to come.
