Today's Tip applies to Taking Care of the Care Taker
Â
Remember to REST
Â
Â
With everything happening in the world right now,
my brain and heart are tired. Â So tired that there have been times I wanted to put the world back in the toy box and go back to bed.
Â
I have spent hours and hours over the past three weeks helping comfort parents and helping parents talk with their children in
an age-approrpiate way that is honest but offers hope.
Â
I have spent hours and hours over the past three weeks working with school districts, teachers, college professors, city and county officials to speak out against hate and violence while providing security,
safety and comfort for their students and constituents.
Â
I am getting calls to present my "Talking to Children in Tough Times" workshop in person and virtually across the country.
Â
I won't stop.  It is important and needs to happen. Â
Â
I will continue to help comfort, to help educate, to listen, to answer
questions, and to engage in coversations.
Â
However, the Jewish concept of Shabbat is in the front of my mind right now. Â After working hard all week, it is a time to rest. Â It is a time to focus on joy and togetherness. Â It is a time to stop
"working" and recuperate.
