March 14th is known as Pi Day (3.14).
Although this is one of mathematics greatest constants, I think it is a great excuse to strengthen the bonds and connect with our children. Do something special with your kids for Pi Day. You could bake a pie or order and eat a pizza
pie. Use the time you spend together to talk to your children. Ask them what's going on in their lives, what they dream about, what they want to do this summer. You could also create art work or play Pi games ... Go on a circle hunt and point out everthing that is circular. How many circles do you have in your house? In the kitchen? You can set limits on this - counting how many circles you can see without having to open a drawer or cupboard full of circular bowls or glasses! Take some of the circles you find and trace around them. Cut out paper circles and create a mobile or modern art for your fridge. You could also create some Zentangles. Click on the picture below to learn more about the benefits of Zentangles and to download two Pi
Day Circle Coloring Sheets.
