You are not Alone!
Â
There are times when everyone feels alone.
Â
Especially when we are tired and feeling unappreciated. Â This can lead to anger or feelings of incompetence.
Â
It's ok to feel angry. Â It's ok to feel frustrated. Â
YOU ARE NOT INCOMPETENT!Â
Â
You are still learning about this whole
parenting thing. Â None of us have parented the child at this age in front of us before. Â And - even once you think you've figured it out, your next child reaches that age and needs to be parented in a whole different way.
Â
As for feeling unappreciated...Â
you need to teach your family what you need.Â
Â
When my daughters would get a bit 'demand-y' or forget to be grateful, I would need to help remind them how I wanted to be treated. Â
Â
That often came across with me saying "Thank you mother for getting me the xyz" or "Oh, what did you say? Â Wow! Â You're the greatest mom on earth! Â How did I ever live without you?" Â
Â
I also
tried to thank them whenever they did something that made me happy, even when it was 'regular' stuff or expected chores. Â I was still appreciative of the fact that I didn't have to do that thing and thanked them.
Â
When was the last time you appreciated yourself?
Do you need to remind yourself how you want to be treated?
Â
Big or small accomplishments are still accomplishments and you need to remember to appreciate you!
Â
Did you get out of bed today? Â Yay you!
Did you feed your kids and yourself today? Â Yay you!
Did you take time to take care
of the care taker? Â Yay you!
Â
Â
Please keep going. Â Even taking tiny steps, keep going. Don't give up.
Â
Show yourself compassion. Reach out for help. Give yourself a break but then keep going. The world truly is a better place with you in it.
