There can be many varieties of this necklace even if it is made with "just" water, so be creative! And... if my mom has a picture of my kiddos with the necklaces on, I'll add it to a future email. I just can't find one quickly at the moment...
Â
We made ice cube necklaces with fruit, sequins, small trinkets, buttons, large and small beads (on the string) and once we even made a necklace with glitter. Just place the items in the ice cube tray, fill it up, and follow the same directions as above.
Â
Please be cautious if you have young children as all of the above mentioned can be choking hazards! Well, maybe not the glitter... but who wants a mouthful of that?!
Â
I highly recommend
sticking to water as the main ingredient for the "jewels" on this necklace. Even if you get creative with beads or buttons on the string.
Â
Apple juice
tastes sweet and freezes just fine but tends to make the person wearing the necklace very sticky. Grape juice would probably stain clothing... you get the idea.
