Camps for players 5-17, from beginner to ~1000 rating.
- Master Chess
Camps for advanced players rated 800+
- Strategy-Games
Camps for a variety of new fun/learning, ages 6+
- Teen Chess
Camps specifically for grades 6-12 (under 18).
Weekend Clubs:
5 Club options are
available on Saturdays and Sundays, which are 2 or 3 hour classes that use drop-in scheduling! No registration necessary, just come by and pay at the door whenever you want to attend! Great instruction and casual training/games. Also make use of our discounted bundle purchase!
- San Jose Chess
Club: Every Saturday, 9-11 am
- Palo Alto Strategy
Games (1-3pm) and Chess Club (3-5pm) every Saturday.
- Los Gatos Chess
Club: Every Saturday, 4-6pm,
- Cupertino Chess
Club: (3 hours, + Pizza!), every Sunday, 5-8pm.

Strategy Games:
An exciting and
fun curriculum that broadens the range of what we offer for student enrichment, beyond the boundaries of Chess. We host this option in both weekly Club and Seasonal Camp form. See what the fuss is about HERE.
BAC Chess Teams:
Our more experienced
players can join one of our 3 levels of BAC Teams that meet in Palo Alto or San Jose with our top-rated coaches on pre-scheduled Saturdays! Registration is handled monthly. Adults are now also welcome to join our USCF 1500+ A-Team.
Your First Tournament:
We have a special
monthly unrated Tournament in San Jose called "Rising Star" that is specifically designed to be the first tournament experience for unrated kids! While the kids are in their games, parents receive a quick seminar in a side-room on what to expect with tournaments, ratings, the USCF and what to do next! Its the perfect first step and makes for a convenient stepping stool before the March Championships! The next Rising Star is on February 16th. More about Rising Star HERE.
Weekly Rated Chess Tournaments:
We host half-day
tournaments (Quads + Swiss) just about every weekend all over the Bay Area, including our new Chess4Less offers (discounted Tournaments!). Our newest location will be in Palo Alto at our regular Camp and Team site, at UUCPA! Find the schedule and info on all BAC Signature Tournaments HERE.
SuperStates, the 2020 State Championship!:
The biggest event of
the year expecting over 1000 players! Every level is invited to participate in this 46th annual CalChess Championship, March 14-15 2020, organized by BAC. We have made it more convenient than ever in that most players under 800 rating (USCF) can now play on Saturday OR Sunday, while in the past they were forced to play on one particular day. Rookie players have nothing to fear as they may compete in their own category and only play against peers of similar strength. We also
have a VIP Concierge Sign-in Form for our BAC Family where we will do the heavy-lifting of registration for you! Players can represent themselves, their School and their Clubs in this dont-miss mega-event at the Santa Clara Convention Center!

Private Tutoring:
Our coaches offer 1
on 1 tutoring in Chess and other subjects (Math, SAT prep, etc..). You may browse the list of available coaches on our tutoring website: www.BACprivatecoaching.com. You may browse availability and rates by coach and location, and all negotiations are directly with the tutors themselves (not BAC).
