A couple weeks ago I was watching Simpsons quite late at night with my daughter.
After we finished I asked her to go upstairs and get ready for bed.
When I opened the kitchen tap to wash my hands, the cold water pressure was very low and it got me slightly concerned.
Anyway, a few minutes later I go upstairs, and as I am about to wash my face my daughter rushes in to tell me that there is no water. We check all the taps in the house and there was not a drop of water available. We both start panicking but I tell her not to worry and go to bed.
As I’m lying in bed at around 1am, I’m still worrying as we had even run out of Costco water in the house.
I start googling if there is any water works going around in my area and who I would need to call. The more I focused on the water issue, the more worried I got.
I started worrying about how my husband was going to get ready for work in the morning. What if we didn’t have water for a few days?
And then the Holy Spirit reminded me of what Jesus had said in Luke 12:29-30:
“And don’t be concerned about what to eat and what to drink. Don’t worry about such things. These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers all over the world, but your Father already knows your needs.”
So I prayed to God that the water issue would be resolved and to take away the worry around it.
My husband woke up around 2 am to ask me if everything was okay as I was still awake.
I told him what had happened and his first reaction was “What did you do to the water?”
I had half a mind to tell him,
“What could I possibly have done?? Turned off the water in the house for a laugh? I wouldn’t even know where the switch is or knob or whatever it is you need to turn off the water and why in the world would I do that?!”
I choose to ignore the silly remark (the better choice) and we go together to check the taps.
And there was water coming from the tap with great force. Hallelujah!(I never thought I would celebrate water coming from the taps! But I did, and I was so grateful.)
Which makes me want to focus on 3 things that will help you get the miracles you are seeking.
1. Do not worry about the problem and trust that God already knows your needs. Even if in the physical it seems like nothing is happening, trust in God who is always good and faithful to those who put their faith in Him.
2. Be Grateful: We are so busy asking God for the next thing we need or want without stopping to thank Him for all the things He has already blessed us with even the things we take for granted.( like in my case running water)
3. Where are you looking?
At God’s grace or your problem?
Worrying about the problem is why we don't get to enjoy the miracles we are seeking.
Instead, believe in this promise from the Bible:
“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all He has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.”
And when you start having peace around the issue you are worried about, that’s when God is able to step in and bless you exceedingly, abundantly, above and beyond your expectations.
I pray that your life is always filled with supernatural miracles from God.
Until the next time, stay blessed, happy and inspired,.
