December always seems to be a month of highs and lows. It's the Holidays which I always appreciate, but the extra time gives me pause to reflect on all the crises which keep impacting our day to day lives.
The endless doomscrolling that I often fall into about climate breakdown, economic crisis, and social collapse can sometimes take away from the joy and hope of this season.
That’s why it’s important to share the stories of heroes who overcame great odds, and restored their water systems and ecosystems where they lived...and that's what I'm bringing you today. These are people just like you and me,
who were called to help restore nature, and restored hope for the people around them.
Though there are
tens of thousands of stories of water heroes we want to tell, today we want to share the stories of 10 Heroes of the Water Cycle...
These are
people like Rajendra Singh, Wangari Maathai, Sepp Holzer, Erin Brockovich, and Willie Smits. They all came from different continents,
different backgrounds, and different ages and professions, but they all shared a calling to help restore water systems.
We hope you enjoy learning about their stories, because they show that any of us has the power to restore healthy water systems and ecosystems if our will is strong, and we work with others to make it happen.
