World Premiere & Webinar: Desert or Rainforest with Walter Jehne and Zach Weiss
Published: Tue, 03/15/22
Hey there ,
Though I'd like to write my thoughts about the Ukraine war I'll save that for another email. Another massive environmental disaster happened just last week: Mega-flooding across Australia. After a year of mega-fires in December 2020 came one of the largest flood events the continent has ever seen. This is without a doubt an undeniable case study of a broken water cycle.
How do we stabilize drought/fire/flood extremes?
That's the question we're trying to answer at Water Stories, and this Sunday, we wanted to share the story of one Water Hero who set out to do just that: Microbiologist Walter Jehne.
This Saturday (PST) and Sunday (Sydney time) we'll be sharing a film about an ecological miracle...creating a rainforest in the middle of the arid outback. A few decades ago, Walter and his team set out to create a rainforest where there was none before. Now, even amid rampant drought, wildfire, and floods that rainforest remains stable, with huge implications about how we can stabilize our local ecosystems. World Premiere with Walter occurs at 4PM Saturday March 19th PST/10AM Sunday March 20th Sydney Time. After the film we'll have a 35 minute Q&A with Walter, Zach and the Water Stories team.
