Through all of this, the greatest thing I've learned is that we have to
have a relationship with nature if we are to live a meaningful, regenerative life. Even if we're incredibly educated, with all the latest technology, it means nothing if you're not interacting with nature herself. At times I've felt despair, because I've spend years behind a screen, producing digital events and videos when all I wanted to do was plant trees, make compost and garden, or volunteer restoring a creek.
What I believe the SDMC has given me that is priceless is lasting inspiration. All the people we've brought on are creating ecological miracles that go far beyond just "climate change solutions". These are lessons for making our
world a paradise, and filling our lives with joy. These are miracles that should be shared on every tv screen, tik tok blurb and newspaper. At times, this work has driven me crazy, because the tech billionaires around the world are spreading mental diahreea like the metaverse across our reality, when what we really need is time with our neighbors with our hands in the soil.
