How to Grow High Value Products in an Extreme Dry Climate (Webinar with Nicolas Netien and Neal Spackman)

Published: Mon, 11/21/16

Hey Folks,
Happy Monday. Thank you all for your
responses over the last few weeks.  It's super inspiring
to see the ways our classes have helped.
It keeps us going, and keeps us aiming to get better.

This week, we wanted to do a dry climate webinar that will be profound, practical and inspiring.

This week, we have Nicolas Netien joining us
to share how he is able to grow the world's highest rated Olive Oil,
and other dry climate products, in an area with almost no rainfall.

Much like Aaron (last week's guest) and Neal, Nicolas is a first generation farmer.  He did not grow up with this knowledge first hand. He had to learn it from years of trial and error.  Nicolas took his passion for ecological design, and set off with his wife Maria to transform a degraded 45 hectare dryland farm in Cyprus into a permaculture oasis.

Years after setting out, the time and dedication is paying off at ATSAS farms, and Nicolas and his wife are producing Carob, Pomegranate, Prickly Pear, Aromatic Herbs, and Olive Oil with the highest nutritional content (polyphenol count) in the known world.

This is all despite having no rainfall in 2015-2016.

If you want to learn about productive farming and permaculture design for a drier future, then come join and learn with us on Friday!
