Rewilding and Regenerating Farm Ecosystems Webinar with Peter Allen and Neal Spackman

Published: Mon, 12/12/16

Howdy Folks,
This week's webinar features Peter Allen, the founder of Mastodon Valley Farm in SW Wisconsin.  Peter left a PhD program in ecology to live on Mark Shepard's farm, where he learned the ropes of integrating livestock into silvopasture systems.

I was fortunate to visit Peter and his wife Maureen at Mastodon Valley earlier this year, and came away very impressed.  Peter has developed a lot of practical skills --budgeting, planning, marketing, selling, but also running animals and forestry.  On top of that, he is whip smart.

Peter's webinar is on Savannah-based agricultures, and the why and how of integrating tree and grazing systems.  It filled in some of my own knowledge gaps and blew me away when I saw it.  It's going to be good.

This will be a great opportunity for those who want to harness the beneficial aspects of wilderness on the farm.

Hope to see you all on Thursday.  As always we welcome your feedback and love to hear from you.
