We Raised over $4,500 for Pleistocene Park! (+Webinar Replay and Recap)

Published: Sat, 04/08/17

Hey Folks,
I am floored with gratitude right now. A bunch of you showed up on a Saturday morning to learn about Rewilding in Siberia, and you gave a ton.

In the span of 2 hours, we raised nearly $4,500 to support Pleistocene Park and the the vision of Rewilding.  We've almost raised enough to adopt a buffalo, which you will get to name if we raise $500 more *fingers crossed*.  For any of you who still wants to contribute and claim some SDMC perks, there's about 11 hours left.

Just take a screenshot of your donation, and forward it us if you want to participate.
If you missed the webinar or would like to rewatch it, you're in luck, because we're keeping the webinar replay up for free till Tuesday.

Nikita went over some truly mind-blowing science about the potential carrying capacity of mammals in Siberia. Long story short, there's nearly limitless potential to bring back giant herds of herbivores and predators across the Tundra and Taiga.  This would in turn, help stabilize the melting permafrost by establishing a grassland ecosystem with a high albedo, and with the trampling of snow by animals across thousands of miles.  Needless to say, the webinar was fascinating, and infinitely important.  Pleistocene Park will be an effort that requires years if not decades to realize...but it must be realized.

It is a work of hard labor to transport herds of mammals thousands of miles to the Siberian Steppe, but it is worth it.  We hope the kickstarter could be the first step that gets them some major international funding and support.

If any one you have additional questions for Nikita, you can get ahold of him by email: [email protected]

If any of you have connections to herds of Musk-Oxen, Bison, Elk, or Yaks in Alaska or the BC Area, or freight/livestock shipping connections in the Northern Pacific...let us know. You might be able to help Nikita Zimov increase the size of Pleistocene Park by getting more animals there.

Have a great rest of the weekend and grateful to know you all.
