Restoring Wetlands and Managing Ponds and Lakes with Tom Duncan

Published: Tue, 08/01/17

Hey there ,
In case you haven't heard, much of the Norther Hemisphere is going through a pretty nasty heatwave, and I bet most of us wish we had a nice deep pond right about now.

In the face of increasingly common extreme heat in summer, it's not only essential to have ready access to water, but something you can and should design for.

But how do we plan for such extremes, and how we do you use water as an ecological buffer against extreme weather, drought and pollution?

Our next guest has been doing just that on a truly staggering scale...
Tom Duncan.

Tom Duncan is an environmental and social scientist with experience in large-scale land restoration projects, mostly notably in China where he worked on a 19 million hectare program that reached 40 million farmers. He has written for a variety of journals on regenerative and ecological agriculture, with an emphasis on utilizing technologies for monitoring and improving farm models. Tom is also the inventor of the AquaBiofilter, a biomimicry technology that treats water pollution while providing aquatic habitat and platforms for crops such as rice and flowers.

Definitely come join us Thursday, because Tom is going to share indispensable lessons about restoring and managing water systems...which every one of us can benefit from.

Have a great week, and hope to see you at the webinar.
