Webinar Replay: Local Fiber Economies with Rebecca Burgess of Fibershed

Published: Thu, 11/02/17

Hey ,
We just had a great webinar with Rebecca Burgess of Fibershed.
Over the last several years, Rebecca has helped pulled off a
phenomenal feat; linking together local wool producers, weavers, manufacturers, designers and marketers together to create a local wool economy in Northern California.

The Fibershed project is helping create wool products
that are world renowned, and also creating a local renaissance in
wool production that is carbon negative.  They are aiming
to sequester over 1 million tons of C02 with holistic sheep
grazing methods locally.

If we truly want to regenerate our local ecosystems
and economies, then what we wear plays a big part in that.
Projects like these turn the economic trope of "opportunity cost"
on its head by creating a holistic economy where everyone from producer to wearer benefits beyond simple profit.

You can check out the replay below.
Have a great weekend and keep designing a better world
