Some of you know that I'm currently away from my job at Al Baydha in Saudi Arabia, studying at Stanford University's Graduate School of Business.  I've had some serious culture shock moving from Jeddah to the San Francisco Bay area, but also had some opportunities to talk about solutions that we've shown on Sustainable Design Masterclass.

I am in the nucleus of Silicon Valley, where venture capitalists play match-maker to really smart folks with bright ideas and hundreds of millions of dollars are thrown around and blown away on potential ways to earn money, and where it is a given that technology will save us from the dangers of unsustainable civilization.  I'm trying to flip that narrative while I'm here to whatever degree I can.  

I have found myself talking about soil loss in accounting class.  I evangelized Tony Rinaudo's FMNR in a political economy class taught by Condoleeze Rice on famine and international aid in Sub-saharan Africa.  I put a Drawdown poster up on our student lounge wall.  And in the meantime, i'm hoping to use my time here to gear up for new projects I intend to launch next year, and which i'd love to showcase through Sustainable Design Masterclass. 

If you haven't checked it out, our new youtube channel is brimming with content that we have never released to the public before.  This week we released Kay Baxter's webinar on seed saving, Brad Lancaster's webinar on how he got city ordinances changed to make urban rainwater harvesting a reality in Tucson, Tom Duncan's show on how he used artificially constructed floating wetlands to clean extremely polluted lakes in China, and Patrick Worms' webinar on global agroforestry.  These are extremely knowledgeable and experienced folks doing amazing work in their own spheres of influence, and Raleigh and I are excited to share them with you.
